Gender Differences in Gait Parameters of Healthy Adult Individuals

چکیده
Background and Purpose: Anatomical biomechanical differences between male female are also known to cause in gait patterns. However, the results of studies contradictory. Furthermore, these focused only on some spatiotemporal parameters, pelvic movements were not analyzed. The aim present study is reveal difference parameters female.
Methods: 44 39 males included study. BTS G-Walk system was used evaluate gait. After accelerometer placed, participants asked walk 8 m. Spatiotemporal kinematics recorded.
Results: Given it found that similar terms speed, % stride length step (p>0.05), while cycle duration, length, swing phase single support phases higher male; stance phase, first double phases, cadence be (p0.05), tilt total range obliquity (p

Gender differences exist in osteoarthritic gait.
BACKGROUND Knee osteoarthritis is 2-3 times more prevalent in females than males. Biomechanical differences in gait may play a role in this gender predisposition. The purpose of this study was to determine if there are gender-based biomechanical differences in the gait patterns of people with knee osteoarthritis. METHODS Three-dimensional gait analysis was performed on healthy (18 males and 2...
متن کاملComparison of Microsoft Kinect TM and Observational Gait Analysis in the Assessment of Gait Parameters of Apparently Healthy Adults
Objectives: The Microsoft KinectTM is reported to have compelling potentials for gait analysis in medicine; however, there are few data on its comparison with observational gait analysis (OGA). This study compared the Microsoft KinectTM and the OGA in the assessment of gait parameters of apparently healthy adults. Methods: Ninety-seven apparently healthy young male adults participated in this ...
متن کاملGender Differences in Predictors of Left Ventricular Myocardial Relaxation in Non-Obese, Healthy Individuals
BACKGROUND Previous studies indicate that individuals with metabolic syndrome (MetS) might be at risk for left ventricular (LV) diastolic dysfunction. However, little is known about which metabolic factors contribute to the development of LV dysfunction in individuals who are not obese or overweight and who do not have diabetes mellitus and/or cardiovascular disease. METHODS Participants with...
متن کاملStrength Training and Kinematics Parameters of Gait in Healthy Female Elderly
Objectives: This study was under taken to consider the effect of strength training on some kinematics parameters of gait (step length, cadence and speed walking). Methods & Materials: Twenty-four healthy elderly women (with average and standard deviation age of 61.53±2.84 years, height of 157.1±5.5 cm, weight of 69.13±7.6 kg and BMI 28.1±3.6 kg/m) participated in this study. The strength of ...
متن کاملGender and measuring-position differences in the radial pulse of healthy individuals.
In this research, radial pulse differences according to gender and measuring positions in healthy individuals were investigated in an objective manner. A total of 372 healthy volunteers (189 males and 183 females) participated in this study. The radial pulse was measured at six different measuring positions using a multistep tonometry system. The pulse data were compared between males and femal...
